What You Can Do

The search page is the fastest way to find content in your target language (L2). You can:

Type a keyword into the search bar and click **Search... Language Player looks through all available videos and returns matches by title. You'll see video cards with thumbnails, titles, difficulty levels, and view counts.

Search... your target language for the best results. For example, if you're learning Japanese, search 料理 (cooking) instead of "cooking."

The search updates the page URL, so you can bookmark or share your search results.

Opening Any YouTube Video

You don't need to search for a video that's already in our database. You can paste any YouTube URL directly into the search bar and Language Player will open it with full interactive subtitles and dictionary lookup.

Paste any of these:

As soon as Language Player recognizes a YouTube link, it takes you straight to the watch page where you can see the video with synced subtitles, click any word for its definition, and save words to your vocabulary list.

See watch Page for details on the video player.

When you first open the search page, you'll see a tag cloud of popular topics in your target language. These are the most-searched terms by other learners. Click any tag to search for it instantly — a great way to find content when you're not sure what to look for.

tags vary by language. A Japanese learner might see ニュース (news), アニメ (anime), and 料理 (cooking), while a Spanish learner might see música, noticias, and cocina.
